The Committee considered a report (available to view in full on the Council’s web site), giving an assessment of the Council’s performance against the Public Sector Equality Duty and the requirements of Regulation 2 of the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) Regulations.  The report gave examples of how the Council was complying with the Duty, thus ensuring that all its customers had equal access to all services.  These examples were given under the following generic headings:-

 

·         Information and Data Sharing.

 

·         Equality Impact Assessments.

 

·         Community Engagement

 

Cabinet supported the work either already undertaken or planned in the field of equalities and

 

RESOLVED –

 

That the content of the Equality report for 2019 be noted and the document be approved for publication in order to meet the Council’s statutory duty.
