1.1
The Draft Terms of Reference for the Customer Contact
review are attached as Appendix
1.1. In considering the Terms of
Reference, Members need to assess whether:
·
They cover all the significant issues in
question?
·
They encompass the processes of challenge, compare, consult
and compete, ensuring that a rigorous review will be
undertaken?
·
The reporting timetable is reasonable?
·
Sufficient resources are available to ensure that reporting
requirements are met?
·
The issue of external assistance/facilitation has been
addressed?
·
The proposed budget is reasonable?
1.2
The Terms of Reference will be submitted in draft form with
the intention of inviting the Lead Best Value Inspector to comment
on them, prior to the review commencing. Involving the Inspector at
the earliest possible stage will increase the likelihood that the
review is properly scoped and that all aspects will have been
considered.
1.3
Results from a brainstorming session, to identify the
problems that frontline staff have when dealing with customers, are
attached at Appendix
1.2.
1.4
At a previous committee, Cllr P T Priestley volunteered to
be on the review team. One further Member nomination is
required.
