Councillor Mrs K J Dix declared a personal interest in the application in that the Swan Public House was in her ward.

2.     THE SWAN PUBLIC HOUSE, ABBEY BARN ROAD, WYCOMBE MARSH, HIGH WYCOMBE

The Panel met to conduct a Hearing into an application under s.34 of the Licensing Act 2003 to vary the premises licence currently in force to reflect the new interior layout of the premises.

A representation had been received from the responsible authority (Environmental Services Division, Wycombe District Council) raising concerns over the number of urinals available and the escaping of faecal aerosols from the newly installed WC.  It was stated that 3 urinals were required and that suitable and effective extract ventilation be installed.

A representative of the Environmental Health Services Division was present at the meeting to answer questions.  The Panel noted that after discussions between the District Council’s Environmental Health Department and architects acting for the Swan Public House, it had been agreed that the alterations referred to above would be implemented (correspondence submitted).

(At this juncture the Licensing Manager and officer and the representative of the Environmental Services Division of Wycombe District Council left the meeting.)

The Panel considered its decision with reference to the Council’s policy, particularly in relation to public safety and prevention of public nuisance and in the light of the agreement referred to above it was:

RESOLVED: That the application to vary the premises licence as submitted be approved subject to the conditions referred to above and to the satisfaction of the Environmental Services Division of Wycombe District Council.

(The Hearing commenced at 4.20pm and concluded at 4.35pm)
