MINUTES

 

 

 

RESOLVED –

 

 

 

That the Minutes of the meeting held on 15th May, 2006 be approved as a correct record.

 

 

 

2.

EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC FROM THE MEETING

 

 

 

RESOLVED –

 

 

 

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Paragraph indicated in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act:-

 

 

 

Appointment of Chief Executive.  (Paragraph 1).

 

 

 

Reason for exemption - The public interest in maintaining the exemption would outweigh the public interest in disclosing information which was personal or sensitive personal information.

 

 

 

3.

APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE

 

 

 

The Committee considered various issues relating to the appointment of a Chief Executive.  The external advisors were present at the meeting.

 

 

 

RESOLVED –

 

 

 

(1)

That the decision of the Matters of Urgency Committee on 23rd May 2006 relating to the remuneration package be noted.

 

(2)

That having considered the applications the long list of candidates for interview by Veredus be approved.

 

(3)

That Veredus be authorised to add any further candidates to the long list from  those indicated to the Committee as potential applicants currently under consideration by them.

 

(4)

That the provisional timetable and in tray exercise arrangements for 6th/7th July be agreed.
