Decision:
To approve the revision of the Waste Access
and Acceptance Policy (WAAP) relating to the Household Recycling
Centre (HRC) service (effective from 1st August 2020)
Reasons for the decision:
Buckinghamshire Council (the Council) provides
Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) to its residents for the
disposal of household waste and recycling. The service delivery of
these sites is determined by the Council’s Waste Access and
Acceptance Policy (WAAP), which was introduced in 2006. The policy
is regularly reviewed and revised to reflect relevant changes or
decisions made. The current WAAP was updated effective April
2019.
Since 1st April 2019 there have been a number of changes that need
to be reflected in the WAAP. These are:
1.Burnham HRC is to remain open (Cabinet Decision in September
2019)
2.Buckinghamshire Council (both change to unitary and in
branding)
3.The new Buckinghamshire Council Fly-tipping Enforcement Policy
(Cabinet Decision in April 2020)
4.VAT charges to be added to pricing for non-household waste from
1st August 2020 (Cabinet Member Decision in July 2020)
Alternative options considered:
Do nothing – not recommended. The
existing published WAAP does not reflect the decisions taken by
Cabinet and Cabinet Member listed in the previous section.
Wards Affected: (All Wards);
