Decision Maker: Corporate Director Planning, Growth and Sustainability

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

In accordance with the Leader Decision dated 7th May 2024 and pursuant to the delegations contained therein to grant permission to complete the disposal of the site known as the former Tilehouse Day Opportunity Centre in Denham.

Reasons for the decision:

Property and Assets have been asked to seek options for the sale of the surplus site known as the former Tilehouse Day Opportunity Centre. This option realises the Council’s statutory obligations to achieve best consideration from surplus assets.

Alternative options considered:

1.To accept the proposal from the Parish Council to create a community-based dementia facility but this would result in a loss to the Capital Budget and is not a required service for Adult Social Care.
2.To resubmit the Planning Application but there is a risk that the Planning Committee will reject the application thereby devaluing the site.
3.Do nothing but this would negatively impact the MTFP and leave the building to deteriorate further and become a target for further vandalism.

Wards Affected: Denham;

Details of any conflict of interest declared: There are no known conflicts of interest.
