Decision details
Decision Maker: Leader, Cabinet Member Planning and Regeneration
Decision status: Recommendations approved
Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
The Council is required to keep a register of
persons seeking to acquire land to build a home within its area.
The legacy planning authorities of Buckinghamshire maintained
separate self-build registers and so there is a need to consolidate
a new approach for BC. The Council has a duty to meet the demand on
the register. As such, a local connection test is recommended to
focus the register on local needs. Administration fees will further
focus registrants with a genuine interest in settling/remaining in
Buckinghamshire.
Decision:
Recommendation:
That the Leader agrees to implement a single Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding (SBC) Register, incorporating a local connection test and administration fees.
