All Members of the Senior Appointments Committee declared a personal interest in that they have a working relationship with one of the candidates - the current Chief Executive of Buckinghamshire County Council, Rachael Shimmin.

 

Councillor Martin Tett declared a personal interest that he was acquainted with one of the candidates.

RESOLVED:

 

that the membership and Terms of Reference of the Senior Appointments Committee at Appendix 1 be noted.

Appointment of Chief Executive

Members are asked to consider and make a recommendation to the Shadow Executive as to the appointment of the Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service for Buckinghamshire Council.

Decision:

Following the selection process, the Senior Appointments Committee RESOLVED to

 

RECOMMEND to the Shadow Executive

 

to appoint Rachael Shimmin to the post of Chief Executive for Buckinghamshire Council, on a salary of £210,000 per annum. The terms and conditions as outlined in the report and subject to an amendment in relation to parking arrangements, and with a notice period of 8 months.
