That the Minutes of the meeting held on 19 July 2019 be approved as a correct record.

RESOLVED –

 

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act.

 

Salaries for the Senior Leadership Roles (Tier 3)

Salaries for the Senior Leadership Roles (Tier 3)

Decision:

a)    Decision(s)

That the following be agreed:-

 

      i.        That Tier 3 roles paid in the range £90,000-£120,000 be advertised internally across the five councils in Buckinghamshire.

     ii.        That the Tier 2 appointing manager make appointments to Tier 3 roles with a salary determined by external benchmarking and an individual’s skills, knowledge and experience within the range £90,000--£120,000

    iii.        That the Chief Executive be enabled to have flexibility to advertise and appoint to Tier 3 roles up to £130,000 but this flexibility may only be used in exceptional circumstances.

   iv.        That any salary greater than £130,000 need to be agreed by the Senior Appointments Committee.

 

b)    Reasons for Decision(s)

To enable officers to proceed with the recruitment of Tier 3 posts thus creating stability for staff and services in the new council.

 

c)    Alternative Options Considered

None.

 

d)    Conflicts of Interest / Dispensations

None.

Minutes:

The Senior Appointments Committee received a confidential report which followed on from the Leadership terms and conditions and reward paper agreed by the Shadow Executive on 23 July 2019. The report proposed the appointment process for the Tier 3 roles and focused on the reward arrangements.

 

Members considered the confidential information contained within the report and

 

RESOLVED –

 

That the following be agreed:-

 

      i.        That Tier 3 roles paid in the range £90,000-£120,000 be advertised internally across the five councils in Buckinghamshire.
