Declarations of Interest

To receive any disclosure of disclosable pecuniary interests by Members relating to items on the agenda. If any Member is uncertain as to whether an interest should be disclosed, he or she is asked if possible to contact the Monitoring Officer prior to the meeting.

Councillor S Raja: 20/07389/FUL – declared an interest due to being acquainted Mr John Shaw who was a Mace Bearer. He stated that he had an open mind and confirmed he would listen to the debate before reaching a conclusion when voting on the application.

 

Councillor P Turner: 20/07389/FUL – declared a prejudicial interest in the application and took no part in the debate and voting.

Erection of 2 x apartment buildings comprising 71 x 1-bed flats and 51 x 2-bed flats (122 flats in total) for use as Extra Care Facility with provision of 50 x parking spaces, infrastructure and vehicular access, amenity space including community and allotment area, landscaping and associated works.

 

Following a thorough debate, Members voted on the motion to approve the application. However this motion was defeated.

 

Members then voted on the motion to refuse the application in accordance with the officer recommendation.

It was proposed by Councillor S Raja and seconded by Councillor C Whitehead.

 

            Resolved: that the application be refused.

 

Councillor P Turner declared a prejudicial interest and left the meeting for the duration of the item therefore took no part in the debate or voting on the application.

Members voted in favour of the motion to defer the application for further information, specifically for a Building Research Establishment Daylight and Sunlight analysis to be undertaken, to assess the impact of the development on the semi-detached neighbouring property.
