Minutes:

Householder application for construction of first floor side extension.

This application was the subject of a site visit.

Members noted the Update particularly noting the correct Appeal Decision as the incorrect Decision had been appended as part of the Agenda. The correct version has been attached to these Minutes.

A motion was proposed and seconded to approve the application in accordance with the officer’s recommendation. However, this motion was defeated when Members voted.

Following further debate Members voted on the motion to refuse the application

Members voted in favour of the motion to refuse the application as the proposal, by means of its mass, location to side of the dwelling and proximity to the boundary would appear an overbearing and unneighbourly form of development. This would be harmful to the amenity of the neighbour in terms of outlook from habitable windows and an over dominant form of development adjacent to the private garden. The development would therefore be unacceptable and contrary to policy DM36 of the Wycombe District Local Plan which required that extensions to buildings preserved the amenities of neighbouring properties.

Speaking as Ward Member: Councillor C Harriss

Speaking on behalf of Hughenden Parish Council: Councillor N McDonald

Speaking in objection: Miss A Wright

Speaking on behalf of the applicant: Mr S Fraser

It was proposed by Councillor P Turner and seconded by Councillor M Turner

Resolved: that the application be refused for the reason given above.
