Householder application for proposed construction of two storey front and side extensions, outbuilding, external boundary treatment, relocation of driveway and dropped kerb (part retrospective).

This application was the subject of a site visit.

Members noted the Update.

Members voted in favour of the motion to refuse the application, contrary to Officer’s recommendation for the following reason:

That in the opinion of the Local Planning Authority, by reasons of the size, scale, height and siting of the proposed outbuilding development and its relationship with the building line and street scene, the development would result in an over-bulky appearance and intrusive harm to the detriment of the visual appearance, character and setting of the residential area.  As such, the proposed development would fail to comply with the Adopted Local Plan (August 2019) Policy DM35 (Placemaking and Design Quality), DM36 (Extensions and Alterations to Existing Dwellings) and Adopted Householder Planning and Design Guidance (January 2020).

Speaking as Ward Member: Councillor S Wilson

Speaking on behalf of Wooburn & Bourne End Parish Council: Councillor T Bingham

It was proposed by Councillor S Guy and seconded by Councillor N Thomas

Resolved: that the application be refused, contrary to Officer’s recommendation for the reason laid out above.
