There were no declarations of interest.

 

Apologies were received from Mr M Armstrong (Amersham Action Group), Ms A Brown (Amersham Retailers Group), Cllr T Butcher, Mr P Clark (Friends of Amersham Health Centre), Ms I Livarski, (Chiltern Rangers), Mr C Morgan (Local Resident), Ms D Rutter (Chiltern Foodbank), Ms S Simmons (Action4Youth) and Sgt D Walsh (Thames Valley Police)

Ms L Wright, Community Board co-ordinator, and Ms R Matthews gave a presentation, a copy of which would be appended to these minutes.

 

The four action groups had been set for the year ahead.

 

  • Environment
    • Ms N Magrath, Sustainable Amersham, gave an overview of their work.
  • Economic Regeneration
    • Ms J Barnes, Amersham Action Group, gave an overview of the groups work.
    • The Chairman asked for a task and finish group, working alongside the Economic Regeneration Action Group, to focus on how the Amersham on the Hill market could be supported.
  • Health and Wellbeing
    • Mr M Rosales, Big Community Takeaway, gave an overview of their work.
  • Transport
    • The Chairman encouraged members of the board to feedback areas of concern so they could be discussed by the task group.
    • Mr G Allison asked for volunteers to help man Community Speedwatch
    • The Chairman noted concerns raised about the behaviour of drivers outside St Georges School which had led to several near misses involving children. The Transport Action Group would begin investigating possible solutions.

Ms L Wright, Community Board Co-Ordinator, referred to the updates circulated with the agenda.

 

A written question had been received about the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre. The question and its response would be published online when available.

 

Cllr M Harker spoke about Bucks Open Weekend which had been organised at very short notice. In Amersham on 24 July 2021 local retailers would be encouraged to take part in a storytelling themed event with balloons and signs outside their shops. There would be music, a fancy-dress contests for children and a Alice in Amersham retail trial to promote local businesses.
