Minutes:

The Community Board received a report on the Air Quality Action Plan. Comments made by the community Board were as follows:

• The statistics used to create the AQMA were perceived to be based on older inappropriate data.

• There was criticism that the AQMA was stated to be successful due to the reduction in recent emissions. However this failed to take into account effect of pandemic on traffic.

• Disappointment was expressed that the officer was unable to attend and present the report.

• Feedback and comments which had been submitted were not listed in the plan, and the perception was it had not been taken into account.

• Reference was made to a 2021 EU air pollution study Long term exposure to low level air pollution and mortality. There was concern that levels measured were still at dangerous levels risking increased mortality.
