Cambridge Street Road Safety

We the undersigned petition the council to Increase road safety components on and around Cambridge Street HP20 by slowing and reducing the flow of traffic, reducing anti social behaviour and increasing public safety and rights of way. Increasing public confidence with the council, encouraging local support of change and growth in the community. Keeping Schools and areas of high risk safe - i.e vulnerable persons, MH hospitals etc, special needs schools.

Unacceptable road user standards:
- Involving fast moving motor vehicles, heavy accelerating, racing and general noise pollution.
- ASB generated by takeaway venues (the attractor, and lack of appropriate parking) Contrary to section 59 of the ASB act 2014.
- No speed deterrents on the road - Including signage, alight lamps, MVAS or cameras.
- Inadequate street lighting - Constituting to safety, visibility and pedestrian priority.
- Inadequate safe crossing for pedestrians - No zebras/ pelicans or ATS systems in place.
- Inadequate and outdated parking conditions for modern standards, including modern vehicles, including insufficient spacing.
- The prohibition of illegal street parking, either permit or obstructing of the highway contrary to the Highways Act 1980
