RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of the Cabinet held on 16 April 2018 be approved as a true record and signed by the Chairman.

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

RESOLVED: That pursuant to Regulation 4(2)(b) of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of  Appendix A to Minute 89 because of its reference to matters which contain exempt information as defined as follows:

Appendix A to Minute 89– Little Marlow Country Park

Information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) (Paragraph 3, Part 1 of Schedule 12A, Local Government Act 1972)

(The need to maintain the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosure, because disclosure could prejudice the Council’s position in any future tender process or negotiations).

Little Marlow Country Park

Members had before them a comprehensive report and appendix in respect of a proposed acquisition of land to both safeguard the long term future and reduce operating costs in respect of the Council’s athletics track whilst furthering the development of the proposed Country Park and the enhanced recreation facilities therein.

Members discussed and considered the detail of the acquisition along with the proposed delegation to the senior officers in consultation with relevant Cabinet Members.

It was noted that the plans included for the development of the Country Park were subject to the appropriate Planning Permissions being granted.

The following decision and recommendation to Full Council were made in order to further the Council’s plan for both the Athletics Track and Country Park key to the People, Places and Progress Council Priorities.

                

RESOLVED: That the land on terms set out in Appendix A Section 12 be acquired with delegated authority to agree the final details of the transaction being given to the Chief Executive, Head of Finance and Commercial Services and Major Projects & Estates Executive, in consultation with the Leader and Cabinet Members for Finance & Resources and Community.

 

Recommendation to Council

That Council approve the supplementary estimate for the purchase of land detailed in Appendix A, section 1, not to exceed the figure set out in Appendix A section 12 once the final figure has been confirmed.

Chairman's closing remarks

Minutes:

The Chairman thanked Councillor R Gaffney for his kind remarks; Councillor Gaffney attending his last Cabinet meeting as Chairman of the Council’s Scrutiny body (the Improvement & Review Commission) remarked on the good relationship and rapport that had existed between the executive and Commission during his long involvement.
