The Member has taken the following decision.

The decision will take effect on Tuesday 27 July 2004.

Title

Public/Private “Partnership” in Relation to Provision of Legal Services.

Decision Taken

(i)     That the Cabinet Member for Internal Affairs approves the following firms to form a shortlist from whom legal tenders will be invited for a public/private “partnership” in relation to the provision of Legal Services, for an initial period of two years:

Eversheds

Nabarro Nathanson

Steeles

Veale Wasbrough

Wragge & Co; and

 

(ii)     That the District Solicitor, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Internal Affairs, be authorised to select the successful firm.

Reasons for Decision

To progress the formation of a public/private “partnership” pursuant to the Best Value Service Improvement Plan for Legal Services.

Consultation Undertaken

Consultations have been undertaken with the Cabinet Member for Internal Affairs, and also with the Deputy Leader in his capacity as Link Adviser for Legal Services.
