Decision Taken by a Member

Portfolio:  Planning

The Member has taken the following decision.

The decision will take effect on Tuesday 13 December 2005.

Title

Four Ashes Conservation Area Boundary Revision and Character Survey.

Decision Taken

Boundary Revision of Four Ashes Conservation Area and adaptation of the Four Ashes Conservation Area Character Survey.

Date of Publication

Monday 5 December 2005

Reasons for Decision

There are at present 40 adopted conservation area character surveys completed in Wycombe District, all approved by Members as an aid to development control decisions as adopted as supplementary planning guidance.  Once adopted the surveys are taken into account as a material consideration in deciding planning applications.  The need for a boundary revision to the Four Ashes became apparent during the course of research for the preparation of the conservation area character survey, which identified a part of the historic parkland to Brand House which had become detached from the estate in 1978.  The proposed revision more accurately reflects the area of special interest.

Consultation Undertaken

This survey was subject to a six week consultation period of public consultation, the results of which have been tabulated, with amendments made to the text as appropriate.  A total of 7 consultation responses were received, commenting on a range of issues.  Four of these requested an enlargement of the conservation area.
