To instigate a structured set of charges from 1 January 2008 for certain non statutory services provided by Planning and Sustainability in the following areas:

Reasons for Decision

To ensure the delivery of cost effective services for all our customers and the community in general by charging for certain non-statutory advice and information at the point of delivery, in order to meet our income targets for the financial year and reduce the cost to the general tax payer.

Consultation Undertaken

A proposal to instigate a charging structure was presented to the Planning PAG on 14 December 2006 and then considered by Development Control Committee on 11 January 2007.  It was subsequently considered again at the Planning PAG on 18 October 2007.  The planning agent’s panel has also discussed the proposals to charge for some non-statutory planning services.
