Reasons for Decision

Conservation Area Character Surveys are taken into account as a material consideration in deciding planning applications. The survey was prepared as part of a rolling programme of character surveys.

Consultation Undertaken

The initial work was  undertaken in partnership with Penn and Tylers Green Residents Association, which culminated in a supporting document “Mansions and Mud Houses”, published by the Residents Association. Both Parish Councils were also involved in drafting the document, and the development control guidelines. A public meeting was held to discuss this appraisal and other issues. This survey was subject to a six – week period of public consultation, the results of which have been tabulated, with amendments made to the text as appropriate. A total of twenty two consultation responses were received, commenting on a range of issues.
