1. ETHNIC MONITORING REPORT - 1 APRIL 2005 TO 30 SEPTEMBER 2005 |

This report provides an analysis of lettings and transfers for the six month period from 1st April 2005 to 30th September 2005 together with a breakdown of the Housing Waiting List and Transfer Waiting List by ethnic group. |
|
The report has been produced in accordance with the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) Code of Practice in Rented Housing and the Equalities Standards adopted by the Council. These reports are produced at six monthly intervals. |
|
Under the CRE Code of Practice the Council is required to maintain an ethnic record keeping and monitoring system. The Council keeps records of the ethnic origin of everyone who applies for housing. This is to ensure that the service is provided on an equal basis to all. The provision of this information is entirely voluntary and only self classification is used, with the applicant asked to indicate which category best describes their ethnic group. |

The categories used in the report are as follows:- |

Each report is produced in the format of a bar chart showing the number of applicants in each ethnic group and the resultant percentage. |

35 applicants who described their ethnic group as Pakistani were re-housed. This equates to 13% of the lettings during the period. |
