RESOLVED -

That the Minutes of 27th June, and 2nd July, 2001 were approved as correct records.

EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC FROM THE MEETING

RESOLVED -

That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Paragraphs indicated in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act:-

Factory Premises, Gatehouse Way, Aylesbury  (Paragraphs 7 and 9).

3.

FACTORY PREMISES AT GATEHOUSE WAY, AYLESBURY

Members considered the detailed report of the Director of Planning, Property, and Construction Services outlining the circumstances of a business concern in Aylesbury which were such that there was a possibility that a significant shortfall in the Council's commercial rental income could arise.  The Director's report, which had previously been circulated to all Members of the Council, suggested ways to mitigate the anticipated rental losses and maximise the opportunities for continued use of the premises and to maintain employment prospects.

The report was supplemented by additional information received subsequent to its despatch to Members.  This outlined an approach from another company interested in continuing with the operations currently undertaken at the premises although no specific proposals had been made.

RESOLVED -

That the Director of Planning, Property and Construction Services be authorised to pursue negotiations with any prospective purchaser of the business in question and, if the opportunity arose, to agree lease terms after consultation with the Cabinet Members for Asset Management and Financial Management, to secure continued letting of the Gatehouse Way premises.
