Decision:
To grant fund Hightown Housing Association
£650k of unallocated S106 funding for them to be able to
purchase Ardenham Lane House, Aylesbury, match funding a
£650k award from the Next Steps Accommodation Programme, as
resolved at the Cabinet Meeting of 10 November 2020
Reasons for the decision:
To provide 9 one-bedroom units for rough
sleepers with high support needs, providing a pathway from rough
sleeping to longer term independent accommodation. To adhere to the
conditions of the NSAP award.
Alternative options considered:
For the Council to purchase the Ardenham Lane
property and lease it to Hightown Housing however this was not
possible as Homes England could not release the funding to the
Council directly for this purpose as the Council was not a stock
owning authority. The suggested solution was for Hightown to
purchase the building with the Council retaining nomination
rights.
Wards Affected: Aylesbury North West;
Details of any conflict of interest declared: Angela MacPherson declared an interest as a Board Member for the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust
