Decision:
Appropriation of Roberts Lane Turning Head
from Property Assets team to Highways team for it to be maintained
as public highways.
Reasons for the decision:
Roberts Lane has been permanently closed in
response to the concerns raised by Chalfont St Peter Parish Council
about use of Roberts Lane for rat-running due to the closure of
Chalfont Lane nearby for HS2 construction traffic.
A small piece of farmland has been purchased by the Council from
the Epilepsy Society as a Turning Head for refuse and emergency
vehicles to access Roberts Lane.
The land purchase for the Turning Head was completed in 2021. In
order to maintain it as public Highways, it needs to be
appropriated to the Highways team.
Alternative options considered:
The alternative option will be for the Turning
Head to be maintained by the Property Assets team. However, public
highways in the Council is maintained by the Highway teams who is
the appropriate team to take on the maintenance
responsibility.
Wards Affected: Chalfont St Peter;
Details of any conflict of interest declared: None known.
