To renew the lease at the property to the
existing tenant
Reasons for the decision:
To allow for the tenant’s continued
occupation at market rent.
The renewal lease maintains a revenue stream for the Council from
the continued occupation and prevents incurring marketing fees and
costs associated with a vacant property.
Alternative options considered:
To not renew the lease to the current tenant
but market the property to find an alternative occupier. This would
incur further fees in marketing, costs associated with a vacant
property and loss of rent over a void period which would to be
expected so was not considered an option.
