Decision:
Exemption from publication: There are
confidential appendices to this report, which are
exempt by virtue of paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of Part 1 of
Schedule 12a of the Local
Government Act 1972 because they contain information relating to
the financial or business
affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding
that information).
Decision: To issue a new lease at the property
Reasons for the decision:
The property is currently vacant. The terms of
the letting are in line with
the market. The proposed letting will generate a revenue to support
delivery of the Council’s
services and meeting the Council’s obligations under Section
123 of the Local Government
Act 1954.
The tenant has been reviewed and found to be a suitable tenant for
the property. The new
lease will prevent the Council incurring further costs associated
with vacant properties.
Alternative options considered:
To not issue a new lease to the proposed
tenant but continue marketing the space to find an alternative
occupier. This option would
incur further fees in marketing, costs associated with a vacant
property and loss of income
over a further void period whilst an alternative occupier is found.
This was therefore not
considered as an option.
Wards Affected: Downley;
Details of any conflict of interest declared: There are no known conflicts of interest.
