Decision:
Exemption from publication: There are
confidential appendices to this report, which are
exempt by virtue of paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of Part 1 of
Schedule 12a of the Local
Government Act 1972 because they contain information relating to
the financial or business
affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding
that information).
Decision: To enter into a Deed of Variation on the terms set out in
the Confidential Appendix
Reasons for the decision:
The terms of the Deed of Variation provide for
a continuation of income
from the property in the short term. The terms agreed are in line
with the market rent. The
proposed terms will ensure that the property continues to generate
a revenue to support
delivery of the Council’s services and meeting the
Council’s obligations under Section 123 of
the Local Government Act 1954.
Alternative options considered:
Not to agree to the proposed variation
–
This risks a potential void incurring both a reduction in revenue
and increase in holding costs
whilst a new tenant is found. This is not recommended.
Details of any conflict of interest declared: There are no known conflicts of interest.
