Consent to the assignment of Lease.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposed assignee provides a much stronger
covenant than the assignor. The proposed assignee will continue to
support delivery of the Council’s services and will help meet
the Council’s obligations under Section 123 of the Local
Government Act 1954.
Alternative options considered:
Not to grant consent to the assignment. This
would result in the lease remaining with Harrisons of Buckingham
Ltd and would lose the opportunity to gain a significantly better
covenant.
