Purpose:

The planned approach to awarding Prevention Grants for 2020/21 and the Befriending Services has been impacted by Coronavirus and an interim approach needs to be implemented. This paper requests that the Cabinet Member agrees the proposed interim arrangements.

Decision:

The Cabinet Members AGREED to:

 

1.      Delay award of Befriending contracts for the new service and continue to fund 2019-20 grant funded befriending services until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Payments to existing grant funded services to be continued until Q4.

 

2.      Award all Community Prevention Grants in line with recommended option in the original report, provided as a background paper, with one exception where this would constitute duplication of funding.

 

3.      Offer mitigating funding for 2020-21 to unsuccessful 2019-20 grant-funded organisations or those who would be offered reduced funding in comparison to 2019-20 funding.
