ePetition details

We the undersigned petition the council to address road safety issues - We, the residents of Berryfields face road safety issues especially near the Aylesbury vale academy school (paradise orchard). There needs to be proper pedestrian crossing across the road for the residents to walk and use the way to school and shops around the round around.

There is road laid by the Taylor Wimpey which is useful but it is also dangerous as it doesn't have a signal or pedestrian crossing on the road. We are very much worried to walk down or cross the road with kids on the buggy and disabled using wheelchair as the swivel get stuck on the paving slabs while crossing the road. It's very difficult to cross this road safely as it is close to the mini roundabouts and meeting roads with speeding cars. We have more young families with kids in our community, so please put the signs of children playing and caution sign everywhere appropriate.

I request the Buckinghamshire council to come and view the situation and action on the solution for the safety of our residents.

I hope our Parish council has raised this issue earlier but things haven't been sorted yet. Please don't wait until the accident happens, thank you.

Council response

The Cabinet Member for Transport, Councillor Nick Naylor has responded as follows - "There are plans to install three zebra crossings in the vicinity of Berryfields Primary School. The covid pandemic has held up the commencement of these works and we are currently waiting on final approval from the three Berryfields developers to undertake the work. Currently we are expecting these works to commence on site in August and the Council is working with the developers to achieve the earliest possible timescale."
