We the undersigned petition the council to Introduce: resident parking permits no waiting signs tougher restrictions to stop public overspill parking Action needs to be taken before there is a serious injury or worse.

The residents of Horseshoe Crescent and White Hart Meadow, would be grateful if you could please add our increasing concerns re parking in our residential area which needs urgent attention.
Parking is a daily nightmare for residents of Horseshoe Crescent, Blue Dragon Yard and White Hart Meadow. The issue is a huge concern for the majority of residents and it is detrimental to health, safety, society and the environment.

The issue is made worse by workers of local businesses using the residential enclave as ‘free parking’ and ‘overspill parking’ during the day. Many of whom drive extremely fast and cut corners - which is dangerous.

The problem is further compounded by a vast number of parents from the local schools using the area as a drop-off and pick-up point. With many parents parking inconsiderately, including blocking access and kerb mounting.

The various junctions inside the crescent are dangerous and visibility is poor due to the volume of cars parked, and the tightness in which they do so. It is very squashed already.

Resident and visitor vehicles are frequently getting damaged.

Hedges, fences and walls have been damaged by irresponsible parking.

Deliveries, emergency services and bin collections all struggle to navigate the crescent due to its narrow width.

Some residents have decided to reserve areas outside their properties by using cones and bins in the road - which is out of sheer despair with the situation - but also unintentionally makes the issue worse.

It's a problem not being able to keep a parking spot even if you go out for 20 minutes e.g for a medical appointment to return and not find anywhere to park. Same for any resident that is going about daily life and not being able to park in their own street on return. Not easy if you have young children, heavy shopping and an elderly person

In addition we are being made to feel pushed out of our own community and this is causing much distress and frustration.

In relation to the above Grosvenor House has applied to turn the existing offices into a dwelling of 27 flats. This development will only add to further traffic using the Crescent as an access point.
